Alliance Holdings Inc. is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) holding company that operates like a traditional private equity firm. For nearly 30 years, we have focused on control investments in lower middle-market industrial and manufacturing companies. More recently, we have expanded into non-control investments across various industries. We specialize in niche sectors often overlooked by institutional investors, including cannabis, firearms, and alcohol, as well as asset classes with inefficient tax structures. These include cash flow streams from media and entertainment back-ends, patents/royalties, and other servicing streams. Our ESOP structure enables tax-advantaged exit options for owners—such as Section 1042 sales, tax-free C-Corp conversions to pass-through entities, and the strategic use of NOLs—while also offering innovative solutions for ongoing tax burdens.

With no outside investors, Alliance is not constrained by traditional private equity fundraising cycles. We invest across capital structures and geographies, with check sizes ranging from $500,000 to $20+ million.
